Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about mid-year reading…

Now that we’ve come to the middle of the year, what do you think of your 2009 reading so far? Read anything interesting that you’d like to share? Any outstanding favourites?

So far I'm quite happy with my reading for the year of 2009. I've already read a total of 35 Books and 10 New Authors. I know, it's not quite as much as most of you do, but I'm picking up speed, I'm on my 7th book this month! I'm hoping to have it finished and reviewed before July starts, and it'll be my 11th New Author for the year too!

As for some outstanding favourites, I've gotten quite a few this year! I read Sarah Addison Allen's first novel, Garden Spells , this year and I absolutly loved it! I just recieved her second novel in the mail, and can't wait to read that. I'm in love with the works of Kelley Armstrong, Patricia Briggs, Jeaniene Frost, Yasmine Galenorn, and Nancy A. Collins.

I have an extreme love for paranormal romances, and anything with vampires, werewolves or witches. They have become an addiction for me, and my wishlists at both paperbackswap and bookmooch have increased to astronomical amounts!

Feel free to post links to your Musing Mondays in my comments, I'd love to read them!

HI!
I have Garden Spells on my TBR list for this year. I am mostly into reading mysteries and historical romance. Have a great day!

Wow! 35 books is fantastic! I've only read 20, but I'm not a speedy reader. I love Sarah Addison Allen too. I'm awaiting her new book, The Girl Who Chased the Moon, but they've moved the release to early 2010! Happy Reading!

Wow, I didn't know that they changed the release date on that one! Although I am quite excited that I have finally gotten a copy of The Sugar Queen, can't wait to read that one!

Hey, I think 35 books is excellent! Think about it this way : most people don't even read this much in a year (sad, I know).

I have a similar addiction to yours, I love books with vampires and werewolves and other paranormal creatures! I've really found a comfortable seat among the urban fantasy books I'd say :) I don't know if you've read Rachel Vincent's series, but it's one of my favorite so far!

Great progress so far this year. I've read quite a few "new to me" authors too.
